Library Cards are FREE!!! There are two types: Adult and Juvenile (birth to 18 years-of-age). Both require a photo ID of an adult applying (parent or guardian for juveniles) and something with a current mailing address. This can be the photo ID. The application process takes place at the front desk and requires just a few minutes.
The physical collection consists of over 62,000 items housed at the main location, 12th and Rennie, and the Irving Community Center, 5th and Oak.
These items include books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, newspaper, kits, games, hotspots, and much more.
Items can be curried from one location to the other upon request.

Books, magazines, CDs and hotspots materials can be checked out for two weeks.
DVDs can be checked out for seven days.

There is a five-day grace period following the due date.
DVD’s are checked out for 7 days with a one-day grace period.
All items may be returned at the drop inside the main door located west side of the building, at the front desk or at the outside book drop located on the south side of the building. The outside book drop is available 24 hours a day and all drops are checked multiple times a day.
DVDs and Hotspots fines are assessed at $1 for each day overdue. All other items are assessed at $0.05 for each day overdue.
If you would like to check out an item that is not on the shelf, the front desk may be able to help you do the following.
Reserve the item. This is for items checked out and makes sure you are able to get the book when it is returned.
Borrow from another library. Inter-Library Loan is the process where libraries borrow material from each other for their patrons. There is a fee to help offset the cost of postage.
Purchase the item. Items are often purchased for the collection based on the recommendation of patrons.
All items may be returned in the book drop located on the south side of the building 24 hours a day.
